Story Behind The Song

I was having a conversation with my 80 year old very healthy and beautiful mother who I found upon my visit was complaining about EVERYTHING!! I laughed as she went on about the paper towels not lasting as long as they used to, how her girlfriends never want to go anywhere, and how the bread she always buys doesn't taste as good as it used it. All I could think of was WOW, here this woman is in a beautiful home, she's healthy, all of her children are doing well and productive, she is SO very blessed, and all she's doing is "finding" things to complain about. So I gently asked her , "Mom, do you hear yourself?" "Don't you realize that somebody wants to be you and WISHES they were walking in your shoes?" ...then I went home and wrote a song about it!

This song is about someone who is complaining about their lives, until they are told just how good they have it and how blessed they are. They discover that the cup is not half-empty, but always half-full, and there's always someone worse off...in fact, they are told...somebody wants 2-B-U.
