Story Behind The Song
I composed Cosmic Con Game as the second of seven short dances, or movements. Altogether, the seven dances, named the Chandrasekhar Suite, describe the entire sequence protrayed in chapter four of Alpha and Omega, including the eventual collapse into a black hole, and the subsequent formation of a pulsar.
Song Description
In Chapter 4 of Alpha and Omega, by Charles Seife, a story is told of the attraction of two stars: a white dwarf and a red giant. The white dwarf strips matter from the red giant, resulting in a supernova when the Chandrasekar limit (1.44 times the size of our sun) is reached.
