Great Pan is dancing naked

Syrinx hears the calling
a dream that comes to life
The beauty of the nymph
is burning out your eyes.

The trap was set with guile
the dance atracts the maid
no way she can escape
the horned gods furious chase.

Great Pan runs in trance
across Arcadia's fields
an ecstasy supreme
frenetic chase indeed.

To gallant river Ladonas
the nymph aproaches now
beseeching for his help
he turns her into reed.

Great Pan is blowing doleful
a pipe thats made of reed
a melody from dreamlands
the voice of Syrinx.
