All the fine, young rebels sit home glued to their TV screens
Searching for a cause that will give meaning to their lives
While the lonely souls with no interest in rebellion
Spend their nights looking for love in the bars and the classifieds
And even when they think they might have found it
They're not really satisfied

The sacrificial lambs are waiting to be slaughtered
On the alters we have built to success and fame
And we insist on crucifying anybody
Who even dares to suggest we've got no one but ourselves to blame
We're always looking around for somebody else to blame

And everybody claims

They've learned how to play the game
But Love is not a game

Damsels in distress ride to the rescue
Of broken heroes who have lost their way
But it's not the sort of thing that you can depend on
