I like the instrumentation on this song. Really has a Celtic feel to it. Nice picking. Good vocals too. Don't think I've heard any of your other material, but the voice fits this song very well...... Each lyric line is clear and distinct and easily understood. No wall of sound, just easy-on-the-ears music. Some songs are so loud that even though you can hear the vocals, you can't understand what is being sung.... Good recording and arrangement also. Plus, I think the song is pretty original. It's hard to find anything that is totally original, because we've all been influenced by other songwriter/performers, but this is a fresh look.......The lyrics are pretty good too. The rhymes are easy and they're there because they fit and continue the story...I would think that this song would have as good a shot at radio air time as any of the so-called current hits, etc. However, who knows? This is not canned music and sadly that's what a lot of mainstream listeners want....I like the guitar on the intro too. Makes me want to hear what's to follow.

nice folk vibe, like the production and build of this. lyrics strong, vocal meaningful and a tad rough, but that's what the song is, so just fine. damn i like the guitar work!

typing as i listen... vocal is clear, lyric clear, very good mix for folk style, when 2nd guitar arrives with drumkit, vocal remains clear as it should, "here on the borderline" has been done, of course, but the verse lyrics are very story-like, and a very positive lyric it is... solo is true to style, acoustic picking folk-like, guitar tones are very good... so, just a good solid song, lyric is the type of classic "man sings his life situation", and this lyric works in folk, its simple, the vocal is very very good for the style, sounds like "joe average" playing in a coffee-house, a fellow with a voice thats easy to listen to, yet un-polished in many ways... the mix is clear, and thats the real secret to any folk recording, rather reminds me of the british-folk feel from the late 1960s... good track
