When we were young and full of piss and vinegar and that and this, we'd jump the rocks into the river. Didn't matter, night or day, we'd drink a few and then we'd say, let's jump the rocks into the river.
But since then I've lived and died and held a woman by my side and now all those tears I've cried flow gently down the river.
When we were down and full of hope and carelessness was our last joke, we'd jump the rocks into the river. Our eyes were white and full of fire, we told the truth - they called us liars, when we jumped the rocks into the river.
We crossed the bridge into the mire, left alone without desire and our souls were washed into the river. Empty eyes and thoughtless glances, can't complain, we had our chances, when we jumped the rocks into the river.
...Who'd've thought the memory'd be so strong of all the times that'd come and gone for me to sit and simply long to jump the rocks into the river?
