Book of Wisdom

Story Behind The Song

I think everyone has made mistakes when dealing with the ones they love. We can't always figure out why and we tend to make the same mistakes over and over. This song tells the story of one such individual, who has wronged a loved one and is guilt ridden. She realizes a pattern and contemplates the heavy burden.

Song Description

Lyrics

Book of Wisdom
I. I will apologize. But, I've got no excuse.
I know I did you wrong. Can we call a truce?
Just meet me one more time. Humble pie is on my mind.
My just dessert.
II. I looked into your eyes. Were my tears a surprise?
I made a big mistake. I was so, not wise.
I'll make it up to you. What else can I say or do?
To heal your hurt.
(Chorus)
Even though I'm grown, you know, I'm still human.
Here I stand alone and ask to be forgiven.
I've got to learn to live with my decisions.
Mistakes I've made fill my book of wisdom.
(Turnaround)
III. I add a chapter here. My book is thicker now.
It's such a heavy weight. It's no wonder how.
I've caused you so much pain. It feels like th' drivin' rain.
Stings through my shirt.
(Chorus)
Even though I'm grown, you know, I'm still human.
Here I stand alone and ask to be forgiven.
I've got to learn to live with my decisions.
Mistakes I've made fill my book of wisdom.
(Instrumental bridge: First two lines of verse.)
I've caused you so much pain. It feels like th' drivin' rain.
Stings through my shirt.
(Final chorus)
Even though I'm grown, you know, I'm still human.
Here I stand alone and beg to be forgiven.
I've got to learn to live with my decisions.
Mistakes I've made fill my book of wisdom.

The instrumentation and arrangement are excellent, the piano is top notch, so are the string arrangements. The melodic and harmony interaction of the instrumentation works very well Like emoting of the singer is very good, she is communicating the emotion of the song very well. The track sound very orchestral and emotional.

I love how the instruments set the soft mood for the song.

Heavier bass drum needed.
