This song was inspired at a time in my career where people had finally started paying attention to my music after years of it being neglected in small town where making hip-hop music wasn't heard of. Although I was getting a lot of recognition locally (more than most), I was also still receiving a lot of negativity from the "nay sayers" and people trying pose a competition. Defending my thrown and welcoming the negativity that came with it, I came up with "I Run It."
