Story Behind The Song
Inspired by Portland
Song Description
Michael (singer/bassist) was in a previous band called Liquid Wagon. The band moved to Portland but soon broke up. He wrote this song about "walking alone down the street" in PDX, pondering life in one of those 'what-does-it-all-mean?' moments. One of the first songs Throw The Goat ever played together.

Lyrics
walking alone down the street again
mumbling to myself
guys give me the nod, girls give me the smile
still i worry about my mental health
if i wasn't so goddamn crazy
you know i'd be going insane
somebody told me that words are dead
and they will never define our pain
the doubt that's inside me keeps trembling
each day a reminder of when
things were so simple, i wasn't afraid
about finding a means to an end
so still i keep asking the questions
laughing at all of the lies
is it because i don't believe in god
the truth continues to rape my eyes
the fuckin' bridge is down
and i'm southeast bound
