Another homeless drunk patrols
Manhatten streets, his hand out for some change
Hears a noise above, thinks "ain't that strange"
As he sees the towers explode into flames

And he shrugs as he finds a seat in a vacant door
Nothin' worse than he's seen a million times before
Ain't no surprises when you're used to livin' with the Jungle Law


The aging Jewish widow turns
her TV on and sees the scene unfold
Sheds a tear to hear the staggering death toll
Bows her head to pray for four thousand lost souls

But she looks at the numbers tatooed on her arm
And she thinks of the millions gassed in an evil war
This just confirms what she already knew
about the Jungle Law


The General takes his seat and hears
the President scream out a nation's rage
He knows somebody, somewhere will have to pay
Vengence will not be denied her judgement day

But he remembers the screams in a village in the Mekong
And the terrible stench of the flesh burned by napalm
Its just one more day in a life spent livin' by the Jungle Law

The soldier folds his map and looks
across an endless sea of rocks and sand
What he's doing in this God-forsaken land
Is something he finds hard to understand

'cause he can't fight what he can't see
in their hearts and souls
And no matter who ya' kill it's only hatred to breed more
