This song celebrates the power of peace. Like the
auspicious moon which blesses the earth with her
lights of tranquility, Tibet's spiritual leader the
Dalai Lama brings peace and harmony to all living
beings. This simple monk sings of love and peace at a
time when the world seems to be reeling under hatred,
greed, war and egos.
The song is a new composition. The style of this
song is popularly known in Tibet as "Kham Lu" meaning
a song from Kham region in Eastern Tibet. The
Tibetans from that region are known as the warriors of
Tibet. When it is sung outdoors, it is believed that
mountain gods echoe back to the singer and purifies
him of his negativities.
