Streets of Gold (Mother Dear)

Story Behind The Song

One of my dearest friends lost her son at 35 weeks. We spoke on the phone, just before she was about to deliver him. My heart broke as she told me the prayers she had prayed and the vision she had seen of her son in heaven, and his message to her. The song came out of my desire to capture this for her future encouragement. She played it at the funeral and now wants to share it to encourage others.

Song Description

An encouragement of sympathy and hope from one friend to another following the loss of her unborn baby.

Lyrics

Kneeling down beside the bed to pray,
Calling out to Jesus through the tears,
For strength to rise and face your darkest day,
And walk the road that every mother fears.

I could listen to you all day long
I wish I wasn't far away
You can tell me how you called on God
How he met you in the shadows
And you heard a voice say,

Chorus:

Mother Dear, It's alright
I'm waiting in the light,
There's joy at the feast and peace in the waterfall.
I am free, I am whole, I'm a real living soul,
And I found my feet upon the streets of gold.
