Growing up covers the first verse. Raised in a middle class family and suburb i remember friends and people ill-affected by their motives. Its a song that releases mental pictures in relationships, people and friends in strange sceneries while growing up. Though the chorus clearly states a gangster and his drug use its way beyond that.

Its a song about a young man being shown all of these images all at once. Its about a breakup when a man waits for his love to return, but tragically it never does.
