I lost my dad, and was coming out of surgery for an injury that required a lot of medication. On his birthday/Christmas I remember feeling abandoned and confused ended up writing this song that i felt represented what he felt on his deathbed as he looked back on his life.

Lyrics
Safety Nets and Fastened Windows
A smiling bullet caresses my head
as loneliness creeps into bed
figures in silhouettes,
dancing in your cigarette's smoke
as I watched you choke
send me angel, maybe a devil's hand
so I can descend from the hell I'm in
as paper hearts burn from porcelain scratch
today I learned how to light the match
accents of trailer trash
waiting for the daily cash to slow
it swallowed my soul
send me angel, maybe a devil's hand
so I can descend from the hell I'm in
operator please be my sweetheart
your the only ears I know
as I was away I watched the winter sun
melting my snow
and in the glow of all your cigarette smoke
it floats to a halo
we wait for safety nets, and fastened windows
in hopes that it holds
send me angel, maybe a devil's hand
so I can descend from the hell I'm in
send me angel, maybe a devil's hand
so I can descend from the hell I'm in
(Operator be my sweetheart
we wait for safety nets, and fastened windows
in hopes that it holds)
send me angel, maybe a devil's hand
so I can descend from the hell I'm in
(Operator be my sweetheart)
Will you help me descend from the hell I'm in
