Rescue Me

Song Description

A single guy getting older watching the familiar faces become replaced by new younger ones searches for a way out of the singles life. Finding someone who appears to be in the same lonely boat as himself, the ageing bachelor hopes her to be the love he's been waiting for. Could she be his rescuer from the singles life that has now become his torment? Can they release each other form the same lonely prison? He can only plead his case to her and hope love answers, "Yes I've come to rescue you".

Lyrics

---RESCUE ME---

'Round here nothing much ever changes.
People get drunk and people fight.
And strangers come together, like lovers for one night.
I was a bachelor and self-proclaimed
who said he never needed anyone.
But these days it's harder to go it alone
when these nights all just bleed into one.
So won't you rescue me?
From the tall tales and the cocktails and the scenery.
Isn't it high time we find time for love?
Oh won't you rescue me.
Rescue me.
I can see that see that you're lonely,
for I am lonely too.
Both built walls inside us:
not letting anyone pass though.
You and I are both prisoners here
captive by our own device.
Now it's no more fun playing twenty-one,
so long after the thrill is gone.
It's time to move on.
So won't you rescue me?
And we can say goodnight to Babylon
and set each other free.
Isn't it high time we find time for love?
Oh won't you rescue me.
Rescue me.
