Story Behind The Song
Mark West is a baseball fanatic, his friend Randle Chowning (founding member of the Ozark Daredevils) came over one day and Mark had the hook stuck in his head. Randle talked him into turning it into a song. The next thing you know, Tony Orlando, who loves baseball, hears about it and wants to join in. Tony originally sang it, but wanted it to rock out for possible inclusion in "That's My Boy." So he had some of his band members redo the song. The song did not make the movie, but it is ripe for another!

Lyrics
Gotta be the greatest game of all
To see the batter hit the ball
Gotta be the greatest game I know
To see the fielder make the throw
It is Baseball
Its Gotta be Baseball
I wanna play Baseball
Gotta be the greatest game of all
To see the umpire make the call
Gotta be the greatest game I know
To see the runner as he goes
It is Baseball
Its Gotta be Baseball
I wanna play Baseball
Was it ole Abner Double Day
Gotta be the greatest game of all
To see the batter hit the ball
It is Baseball
Its Gotta be Baseball
I wanna play Baseball
