Lyrics

(VERSE1)
looking out the upper east side of my apartment

i don't have a very good view of houston from here

the woman downstairs from me just got her eviction

and up until today i didn't have very much to fear

but this mornin' i got my notice

it says the city needs a new parking lot

so i'd better get to movin'

if i stay in the middle - i'm gonna get caught

(CHORUS)
'cause the wreckin' ball is movin' in tomorrow
i'd better pack my stuff and get the hell out of dodge

the wreckin ball is movin in tomorrow

and they don't care if you've got no place to live

when life leaves you with no alternative

you can blame it on the wreckin ball

(VERSE2)
had a little talk last night with my supervisor

he told me that business was a little overdue

despite him being the head honcho of our department

work was slow and ther was nothing he could do

so when i went home to my baby

he hit the roof about me losin my job

so i went back home to my mothers'

and all i left behind was the sink and the doorknob

(CHORUS)
now the wreckin' ball is movin' in tomorrow
he'd better pack his shit and get the hell out of dodge
the wreckin ball is movin in tomorrow
and i don't care if he's got no place to live
when life leaves you with no alternative
he can blame it on the wreckin ball

(BUILD)
i go ridin' into the sunset

leave behind me everything that i've known

maybe file for unemployment

try to find a house in a no parking zone

(CHORUS)
so the wreckin' ball won't be movin in tomorrow
make me pack my stuff and get the hell out of dodge
the wreckin ball is movin in tomorrow
and they don't care if you've got no place to live
when life leaves you with no alternative
you can blame it on the wreckin ball

(TAG)
blame it on the wreckin ball
blame it on the wreckin ball
doo doo doo doo doo
blame it on the wreckin ball
