Story Behind The Song
I wanted to write a war song that's middle of the road, not leaning to one side or the other. This guy is torn. He doesn't know whether to be for or against...but it's his job to be there. This is a letter he writes his wife before going out on patrol. He's questioning and commited at the same time.
Song Description
This is a letter home from a ficticious soldier in Iraq...to his wife back home.

Lyrics
"In Case I Don't Come Home"
Sean Michael
Sick of...
The sand in my boots
Sick of...
The taste of my food
Read your letter again, I'm thinkin
We shouldn't be here
Then I see these pictures of my babies
And it all seems clear
Chorus
Oh, it's cold outside and a have to confide
This may be my hardest test
'Cuz I don't know if I'll be taken out
By a man with a suicide wish
So I'm writing you, to make sure you know
I'm sorry I left you alone
And how much I love you...
In case...
I don't come home
Sunset...
The shadows they fall
Off in the distance
A haunting cleric's call
This rifle's so heavy baby
This body so weak
And now, the Captain says it's time for another game of
Hide and seek
Repeat Chorus
Oh, it's cold outside and a have to confide
This may be my hardest test
'Cuz I don't know if I'll be taken out
By a man with a dynomite vest
So I'm writing you, to make sure you know
I'm sorry I left you alone
And how much I love you...
In case...
I don't come home
Bridge
And the war it rages on...
Oh, I can't say I know why
But baby, this is what I signed up for
So at least I gotta try to save the world
Someones gotta try, to save the world
Someones gotta try, to save the world
I gotta try to save the world
Repeat Chorus
Oh, it's cold outside and a have to confide
This may be my hardest test
'Cuz I don't know if I'll be taken out
By a man with a suicide wish
So I'm writing you, to make sure you know
I'm sorry I left you alone
And how much I love you...
In case...
I don't come home
