Story Behind The Song

"Turn to Blue" is a different type of song for me to write. I originally had this piece of music I wrote on an acoustic guitar that sounded really cool and was fun to play, but I didn't have any words or melody. After carrying the music around with me for several months, that story concept came to me and I followed it. I really tried to bring that man's character to life, showing his bitterness as well as his utter loss for words at having lost his wife.

Take all the memories and the reality is that I've lost all that is true

I look at the shadows across the walls as the day bids me a due

all I find is gray and black as it fades to the back side of my hand

like a fool I wait by the side of the road 'cause the truth is that I don't know where

else to stand
