"All She Needs" represents Satyajett Salokhey's first single, from his very first album, Let Love Win. It's a track that opens with a synth-y riff, which then goes into strings-y thing. Over a modified, yet extremely gentle Bo Diddley beat played on an acoustic guitar, this track eventually adds exotic percussion and flute-sounding coloring. Along the way, the track also incorporates a reggae/rap vocal. The song's lyric features Salokhey trying to come to terms with a complicated girl. He knows that what this girl really needs is sincere love. However, he's not sure if love alone will transform her into the romantic partner he envisions. "Why you lie, make me cry," he asks. He then goes on to describe the extreme emotional range experienced in this relationship by singing, "Bitter love/sweet pain/tears and smiles." He's obviously confused by this girl's behavioral extremes. Salokhey is from India, and although this is very much a pop song, you can still hear his Indian accent when he sings. Unlike many international performers, which sound just like typical Americans when they sing Americanized pop songs, Salokhey retains his national, ethnic characteristics when he performs, which lends the track a likably exotic feel. Structurally, this recording is quite busy, in the sense that there are a lot of things going on. It seems like every time you listen, you hear something different, and that's the sign of a really good single. It appears to have taken a lot of time and effort to create such a memorable single. Much like a really good romantic movie, the listener is left wondering if the guy ever got this girl. More importantly, did he ever truly understand her complicated ways? Salokhey plays the romantic lead, and is someone you're pulling for to get the girl. This is, indeed, a fascinating little story song.
