Story Behind The Song
This is a set of little portraits of various blokes I know. The genius referred to in the first verse is a friend, artist Matt Sesow. The other two were ex-boyfriends.
Song Description
With a pounding riff and an appropriately snide vocal, this song provides three different character sketches of men: an artist, a pencil pusher, and a thrill seeker. The chorus ties the stories together with a quirky, tangential reference to a car.

Lyrics
He?s a genius, and he?s locked inside a room
He?s got a canvas, and he?s listening to cartoons
He?s going to get down with an independent film star
She?ll do it anywhere
Anywhere but in the car
He?s a quiet one, and he?s locked inside a job
Not what he counted on, no one to listen to him sob
He?s going to have it out and tell you who you think you are
He don?t care where you go
As long as you don?t take the car
He?s a tough guy, and he?s locked inside a front
He brags of high wires, all the extreme things he has done
He?s going to lose her, she?s going to turn and run
He?ll try to keep her there
Maybe he can keep the car
