Story Behind The Song
This started as a poem which was a joke, set to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It was supposed to just make fellow writers laugh, but everybody seemed to love it and wanted it in song form, so Rick and I did. Funny thing about this song is I never thought it could go anywhere, but after listening to it 2-3 times, weeks later the chorus just won't get out of your head.

Lyrics
DEAR A&R EXEC
(c)Sandra Bonadonna Rick M Brown 2004
In a house not too far away
Is a writer with something to say
Please just listen to my words
Give me a chance to be heard
Please say yes to my request
To put my music on your desk
Chorus
Dear A&R Exec
I'm Kris Kristoferson, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard
All rolled into one
Just one minute of your precious time
And I'll write you a song that rhymes,
I know you're a busy man
But I'm a writer who needs a chance
In your office on Music Row
Is where this writer wants to go
Once I'm there I'm sure you'll see
The hit you search for comes from me
Please A&R person don't you know
Someone needs my words and music, for their next show
Repeat Chorus
Years from now when I am old
This song will still be on the radio
It's been nice and I've been kind
But I'm starting to really lose my mind
I surely don't mean to whine
But you're passing on the hit of all time
Repeat Chorus
Yes I'm new to the music world,
Just a simple small town boy (girl)
If you will simply answer your phone
I promise I will leave you alone
Just give my song a listen-to
And you'll be more than happy, I bothered you
Repeat Chorus
