Rachel's Song

Story Behind The Song

Rachel Michelle Fair, 38, of Hollister, Missouri, was born November 25, 1970 in Fallbrook, California, the daughter of Robert Fair and Joanne Gonzales. She departed this life Saturday, January 17, 2009 in Springfield, Missouri following a tragic car crash the evening before in Taney County, Missouri. Friends and family are hosting a celebration of life as a tribute to Rachel's legacy of love Wednesday evening, January 21, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Shake It Up Show Club in Branson, Missouri. True to Rachel's generous nature, she donated her organs to help save the lives of others. Final disposition was cremation. Survivors include companion Josh Clark of Hollister; mother Joanne Gonzales of the state of Florida; father Robert Fair of the state of Hawaii; brother Tony Fair of the state of California; numerous friends and other relatives. Rachel was the manager of Nature's Sunshine Health Food Store in Branson. She cared for the physical and spiritual well-being of all of her friends and family, and complete strangers too. Rachel will be remembered as a loyal, devoted friend with an ever-present smile and a generous heart. She will be greatly missed just as she was greatly loved. Rachel was an animal lover and a nature lover. There was nothing she loved more than to be out in God's creation in the company of friends and her beloved puppy dogs. The tribute to Rachel is open to all of her many friends. Shake It Up Show Club is donating the space, with contributions from Applebee's restaurant in Branson and the Outback Pub in Branson.

Lyrics

She saw the best part of me
Ain't that the best part of love
Yeah that's the best part of love
Because it's true and it's free and

I will raise my cup and make a toast
To the ones who love and give the most

That's the best part of love
That's the best part of me

I will fill my cup and drink again
Memories like wine are sweet my friend

Rachel just had her own way
Her smile could go on for days
I could go on for hours, yeah I could go on for hours
Rachel just had her own way

That's the best part of love
And that's the best part of me
