Tearing Down the Wall

Story Behind The Song

Tearing down the Berlin Wall caused me to be inspired about all the walls we build in society. I was encouraged by tearing down the Iron Curtain and felt it was a symbol to be celebrating and hopeful that our children would build bridges instead of walls.

Song Description

Hoping our children will build bridges instead of walls, this is a song of celebration and freedom from everything that separates us and creates hatred.

Lyrics

I do believe the world is seeing
a change is coming on.
Tearing down the separation,
stone after stone.
A tiny cry keeps shouting at us,
"time to make a choice."
God gave us rights to every nation,
its time to hear His voice....oh....

Tearing down the wall
keep believing.
The road is straight and clear.
Tearing down the wall
and build some bridges.
Wipe away my fear.
We have no use for one-man's glory
Freedom was meant to be shared. Freedom.

I do believe I hear my children
crying every day.
But their not sad, their tears are smiling,
they know a better way.
Tear down the walls of separation.
Let freedom ring.
Open eyes, no longer blinded,
this is why we sing.

Tearing down the wall,
keep believing.
The road is straight and clear.
Tear down the wall
and build some bridges.
Wipe away my fear.
Its time to stand and show some courage,
freedom was meant to be shared.

Tearing down the wall, keep believing, the road is straight & clear.
Tearing down the wall, build some bridges, wipe away my fear.
Tearing down the wall, just keep believing.
Tearing down the wall, and build some bridges.
Tearing down the wall, we gotta keep on, tearing down the wall.
Tearing down the wall, we hear the children.
Tearing down the wall, as they laugh now.
Tearing down the wall, they sing of freedom.
Tearing down the wall, God gave us freedom.
Tearing down the wall, to every nation.
Tearing down the wall, keep on believing.
Tearing down the wall, no separation.
Tearing down the wall, no longer blinded.
Tearing down the wall, we hear His voice now.
Tearing down the wall, tearing down the wall.
