Story Behind The Song
The Listeners were warming up for practice and Ronan jammed out a quick E minor chord riff in an off-beat, which Chealsea and Bryan asked him to repeat. Soon a bassline and drum beat were added, and Ronan came back the next week with a set of lyrics that worked off the frantic energy of the music. The song captures the frustration engendered in trying to find the right path in a sea of temptations and distractions, where pleasure can be destructive, and pain can be instructive.
Song Description
Minutemen/Fuzagi meets a bluesy Joy Division in this fast and furious examination of the meanings of Pleasure and Pain: which is which? When does Pleasure go too far and become Pain? When is it good for you? When is it bad for you? Each has to make their own judgment and do the best they can to manage the weight of their own temptations.

Lyrics
Over and over and over,
again and again and again,
nobody does it better:
there's no end.
Some people call it pleasure.
But I know to call it pain.
How do you go to measure?
How do you even explain?
You think that you're pretty clever.
I think that you're pretty lame.
Think you could do it better?
You'd do it exactly the same.
