Robert and Mitch are old friends and collaborated together on the album "State of Mind". This album reunites them and showcases Robert's haunting music with Mitch's powerful lyrics.
The album features Diane Marino's piano talent and the bass playing of Nashville's Frank Marino. The guitar work is of the Parisian Pierre Chereze.

Ambitious, without being career-minded, he blends his life and work.

Born into a family of musicians and artists, it was almost inevitable that Robert Lauri would become involved in the arts in some way. As a young boy he learned to play piano and guitar. Not content with just performing, Robert was soon composing great melodies to accompany his lyrics. Throughout his career, Robert Lauri has always been "an original", remaining true to himself and his creative drive, unfettered by the ebb and flow of fads and fashion.

In 1976, a number of top names worked with him on his first album.

Published by Dick James Music "Elton John's publisher", produced by Mitchel Hiller and Kay Kaplan, arranged by Robin Miller, this LP was recorded at the Olympic studio in London and distributed in Britain and Italy.

Back in France, Robert Lauri signed with WEA Filipachi in 1980.

A very fine album came out of his work with JP Bourtayre, B. de Bosson and D. Rousseau. The lead song, Je jure caracole, marched up the hit parades and soared quickly to number one, where it stayed for several weeks. Chantal Allon,Claudine Marousek-Dorhakl, D. Barbelivien, J-P Dreau, E. Rodagyl, other writers also worked with him on other hits.

Some years ago, Robert Lauri began a mystical phase and created the band ALEF.

This was an original concept that consisted of mixing hard-hitting, topical arrangements with texts from the Torah. Success was immediate on the airwaves.

Some great performance venues, such as L'Olympia, Le Zenith, Le Palais des Congres and others staged their concerts in front of enthusiastic audiences.

After winning over audiences in Europe, ALEF conquered Canada and the United States, where their gigs included an appearance on the US Telethon.
In parallel to all this, he continued to write music and lyrics for numerous other bands and individual performers.

Robert Lauri continued composing country tunes produced songs touching on sensitive areas in a changing society at the dawn of a new millennium.

For the artist, the year 2008 has been marked by the realization of several substantial projects.

During the past year, Robert Lauri has recorded and released four albums. The album "Liberty" has been recorded in Paris and New York. Two capitals whose cultural richness and musical diversity permeate this new album. The Liberty project is the fruit of the artist's collaboration with Franck Lupo in New York and Alain Pype, eminent French sound engineer, Pierre Cherez, an extraordinary guitarist. The authors that have collaborated in this project are Chantal Allon, Claudine Marousek-Dornhakl and Robert's son, Jessy, JNB. They translated the different atmospheres by their talent and their magic words.

Two compilations of timeless creations about love, emotions and live experience have also been released, Si je meurs par hasard (If per Chance I die) and J'y crois encore (I still believe).

A biography about the artist's musical career, Spotlight on Robert Lauri and Phare sur Robert Lauri have been published by Editions Publibook, author Linda Adnil.

Another musical univers is the concept Alef by Robert Lauri and Chantal Allon. Yaacov Alvo has adapted the psalms of David and Michel Bernholc took care of the musical arrangements. Yaacov and Robert Lauri did the vocals. Their new album, Resource has been released in Autumn 2008.

In 2009, the artiste launched his MyConcert2009 programme (Concert à la Carte), which
also contains a part allowing the public to participate in the production, and some
sponsorship. He performed with his musicians in the famous concert hall, Alhambra in Paris.

2009, a new album will be released by Autumn. A single with the tracks Houston Day and Hong Kong Cafe, extract of the new album, will be available in September on the major download stores.
