Story Behind The Song
This song was written three or four years ago when i lived in Suffolk and had two very strong influences in my life (daughter and wife). SO strong that i thought it was amazing. I took the song to my friends Mark and SImon who wanted to record it with me(SImon on drums, Mark on pedal steel and guitar). We weren't particularly happy with the outcome in terms of quality as we recorded this ourselves on computer and didnt really take quite enough time over it. But you can hear and picture where the song is going and get a feel for it i hope. Hope you enjoy listening to it.
Song Description
Well as usual with my songriting methods i spat this one out very quickly. I was feeling good, emotions running high, in love and happy to be dreaming away with my guitar. Thinking about my family. The chord sequence is a familiar one to me and it makes me feel very dreamy and inspired. It reminds me of the old Bread / Carole King style of song. WHich happens to be my favourite genre (stuck in the seventies). Ths song includes a classic old- style middle eight and some tricky falsetto singing for me. Its obvious i know but i dont care and i enjoy drifting away with this type of music in my head. The lyrics combine dreamy thoughts, love emotions and natural references (Dad's 60's influence i'm afraid).
