Story Behind The Song
Had this little riff running in my head, so I started playing it with some cats I was jamming with, said a prayer and the words, along with the concept just sort of came together. I put Spiritual Warfare together and penned it, because its a catchy riff and good advice, if you are going to be a Christian in this world.
Song Description
This song came together as a concept, of a sermon I heard once on warring in the spirit. "We battle not with flesh and blood" the Bible says, so we must wage war against the enemy in the spirit. That is what the Bible says, so we can do warfare by taking up our weapons, ie shield of faith, sword of spirit etc.
That is all I am trying to say, that even Christians don't need to take a lackadaisical attitude to spiritual warfare.

Lyrics
Say you only want to do what's right
Where will you go if you die tonite?
Good works won't save your soul
This is something you really should know
CHORUS
You're standing in quicksand
You need to take the Master's hand
But you look like you just don't care
Another case of Spiritual Warfare
You think you're living right and free
Say your words don't mean nothing to me
Can't you feel that you're empty inside
Don't you ever think about eternal life
CHORUS
You're standing in quicksand
You need to take the Master's hand
Still you act like you just don't care
Another case of Spiritual Warfare
SOLO 1
CHORUS
You're standing in quicksand
You need to take the Master's hand
Please don't act like you just don't care
Get on your knees in spiritual warfare
SOLO 2 / OUTRO
