Story Behind The Song

After one of my numerous failed relationships, my dreams of vengeance did not include pouring acid on a car like some zanies. I wanted this person to one day realize what he had and what he had traded me in for (a skank--lol). In other words, I wanted him to be the crestfallen subject in my song, realizing his error and mourning me long after I had moved on. Honestly, in 2024, I no longer feel that way; I only hope he has grown and found happiness.

"Obsession," as the name implies, refers to an all-consuming desire to be with someone, even though the subject of our song has wronged her lover.
