Story Behind The Song
This song was inspired by a wonderful classic children's book, Jeffie'e Party, written back in the 1950s by Gene Zion and Margaret Bloy Graham (Illustrator). No part of the book is used in the song...it just triggered a neat idea that has been lurking in my subconscious for a long time, snd also inspired an original design for a lively activity for kids, with masks and movements. Very visual.
Song Description
Behind My face is a song and activity for pre-school up to about 2nd or 3rd grade. It explores social differences and makes a case that no one has to be lonely. Even people who look strange to you can be your friends.
