Story Behind The Song
As the happily married member of an informal songwriting workshop, I wrote this song for some member/friends who were weary of the dating game, but sadly skeptical about finding anything like real love.
Song Description
Two adults with a worldly, very contemporary view of relationships discover to their surprise that what began as a casual liaison has magically turned into the real thing.

Lyrics
All These Stars!
words & Music by Powers McElhone
You're not the first one to hold me all night
But you're the first one to make it seem so right
We're not wide-eyed children, are we? We know who we are
So who on earth has ordered All These Stars!
All These Stars!
You're not the first one to touch me this way
But you're the first one who knew just what to say
We were much too worldly wise to wait for magic things
But who'd believe a bell that really rights and
All These Stars!
We never meant this to get out of hand
This isn't anything like we planned
We're not the first ones whom love has surprised
We're not the first ones who suddenly realized
Plans are made for changing, and most wonderful of all
We simply can't ignore All These Stars!
This started out to be laissez-faire
We never dreamed something real was there
We're not the first ones whom love has surprised
We're not the first ones who suddenly realized
Plans are made for changing, and most beautiful of all
We simply can't ignore All These Stars!
