Immortalised

Story Behind The Song

I composed this track as the death theme for an RPG game that never came to light. I wanted to do something almost completely piano based and because it was a game I thought it would be a good idea to not only capture the idea of the hero dying, but also that the hero would always be remembered. I always feel that an essential element of death in a video game is that the player has another chance to make things right, so sadness must go hand in hand with hope. These 2 concepts are reflected in the 2 core melody ideas. In terms of structure it is very simple - at its most basic it is 2 pianos and 2 strings, which was in fact my original mix, but by mixing in more strings and voices I have obtained a much fuller sound that I am happier with.

Song Description

If I had to pick one of my own tunes as a favourite, this track would be it. It is simple, but it is also melodic and atmospheric. Largely, it is piano based, but strings and synth voices fill it out quite nicely.
