Story Behind The Song
I had the melody in my head for a couple of weeks and knowing that I was going to be alone on Christmas (2002), I fought the urge to write until Christmas morning so that my mind would be occupied with something besides my situation.
Sat down to write at 7:30 am. Miraculously, I was finished by 7:35 am.
Best Christmas ever!!

Lyrics
Guess I got it made; I'm one of the fortunate few
Who doesn't work, because my work is what I love to do
Sit around, play my guitar and sing a set or two
And oh yeah, sometimes I get free food
But still sometimes; I get so confused
Bout the things that I should or should not do
But I'm learning not to beat myself up all black and blue
Cause Lord, I depend on You
Chorus
Oh Lord, I depend on You
Despite myself, somehow you always see me through
I fall down like a baby, with untied shoes
That's why Lord; I depend on you
Seems like I've always got, the Sunday morning flu
I just can't seem to find a place that I fit into
But I've given you the right; to change my point of view
Knowing You, the way I do
We both know, I always try to be, straight up with You
And we both know, I probably haven't seen my last bar stool
But if You take me home tonight; well that'd be so cool
Cause Lord, I depend on You
Chorus
Tag
I hope I always feel like a baby, reaching up to you
Oh Lord, I depend on you
