OPPORTUNITY
© Peter D. Kent 1989

Sometimes you?ve got to fail,
sometimes you?ve got to go astray,
so you can see where you went wrong,
these little lessons come along.

Accepting your ways of old,
and accepting that they no longer hold for the moment.
?Cos every moment you?re born again,
every moment you can understand
a little more about this life
and the journey that you ride,
and you are getting closer
yes you?re getting closer
to what you?ve want to be.

Everybody?s got their yearning
everybody?s got some learning to do,
and while that may be true ...

?Cos all this running around is where the problem?s been
why don?t you cool it a while and let the stillness in,
then you can say a goodbye to the devil in yourself.
'Cos if you open your eyes to all that lies within
you might recognise that it has always been
and you can open your arms to the prodigal son and daughter

Open your eyes to the Truth inside you
open your heart to the love that guides you
and open yourself to the fact this is an opportunity, don?t let it slip away,
an opportunity, a game we?re here to play

Sometimes you?ve got to change,
sometimes you?ve got to move away,
so you can see what you?ve left behind,
a little distance for the mind.

You have been given a helm,
you are the navigator
don?t be a fool who leaves it all for later
just open yourself to the fact this is an opportunity, don?t let it slip away
an opportunity, a game we?re here to play

Accepting your ways of old,
and accepting that they no longer hold for the moment.
?Cos every moment you?re born again,
every moment you can understand
a little more about this life
and the journey that you ride,
and you are getting closer
yes you?re getting closer
to what you?ve always been.

Everybody?s got their yearning
Everybody?s got some learning to do ...
but don?t forget to breathe

All this running around is where the problem?s been
why don?t you cool it a while and let the stillness in
then you can say a goodbye to the devil in yourself.
?Cos all the noise that we make and all this talking we do
if we could just take a break and let the silence through,
then we could listen a while to the void beneath the order.

You have been given a helm, you are a navigator
don?t be the fool who leaves it all for later
just open yourself to the fact this is an opportunity, don?t let it slip away
an opportunity, a game we?re here to play

Yeah, you are the one who?s going to turn that corner
nobody else is going to do it for you
so just openyourself to the fact this is an opportunity, don?t let it slip away
an opportunity, a game we?re here to play

You have been given a helm, you are a navigator
don?t be the fool who leaves it all for later
just open yourself to the fact this is an opportunity, don?t let it slip away
an opportunity, a game we?re here to play
an opportunity, thats put you here today
this is the one Infinite, and its not going to go away.
