Scribbles

Story Behind The Song

The story behind scribbles discusses the realization and my attempt to show others that all of the messes and imperfections in my life are poetic and beautiful, and do not make me a bad person or a screw-up.

Song Description

I was in a time of my life where I was feeling like i was always under immense pressure. Even now, I am in my youth and the amount of decisions I must make baffles me. I felt like i could do nothing right, and it was extremely frustrating to think that all of these mistakes could be affecting my future. Then, i had the realization that in a way, my mistakes are beautiful. I saw them as unique and quite honestly I realized that all of my flaws made me who I am today. They shaped my character, and as a person who believes it is important to be proud of who you are, I learned that I needed to also accept the things that made me that person. Scribbles is inspired by that journey.

Lyrics

Scribbles

Oh,Oh,Oh-Oh,woah (x2)

When everyone says it's not worth it
when everyone whispers you're out of your mind
when rivers dry up and rainbows run out of colour
it's then, that's when

when everything falls and breaks you to the ground
when you're left with the choice to rise or let yourself down
when the sun gets caught up behind all of the clouds
it's then, that's when

there's no way
that i'm letting go now
'cause today
could be the last day i'm around

i may not colour in the lines perfectly
but i do my best and that is good enough for me
and scribbles, yeah they can make a masterpiece

oh,oh,oh-oh,woah(x2)

when even your own heart goes and rejects you
when you don't even know if you're awake or asleep
and you try to dream but all you see is darkness
it's then, that's when

there's no way
that i'm letting go now
'cause today
could be the last day i'm around

i may not colour in the lines perfectly
but i do my best and that is good enough for me
and scribbles, yeah they can make a masterpiece

i wanna be worth it
i wanna be good enough
wanna be respected
even though i'm still young
i wanna be worth it
i wanna be good enough
i wanna be worth it
even though i'm still young

i may not colour in the lines perfectly
but i do my best and that is good enough for me
and i'll hold my head up high so everyone can see
that scribbles, yeah they can make a masterpiece...
make a masterpiece

woah, make a masterpiece, woah, yeah

come fall with me
come fall with me
take all of me
come fall with me
