Story Behind The Song
Ryan loves James Brown (who doesn't) and wanted to write a song that reflected some of that groove. After Matthew helped with the bridge and breakdowns, the song came together quickly. The lyrics were about the low self esteem version of Ryan that had a hard time standing up to the manipulative women in his past.
Song Description
The character in this song really wants to stand up to his girlfriend and tell her that he isn't going to take her manipulation anymore. He spends the entire song battling with himself whether or not he should. P.S. He has incredibly low self esteem.

Lyrics
But you need?
Go on tell me why she sits around thinking
about you every night
Oh but you?ll find
As if any kind of lovin? could just mean why
she sit around and take you for granted
Pre Chorus
I just said
That I?m wrong
I just said I?m sorry
I just want to hold you close
I said that I want to believe in ?it?
Then I saw
Her reflection in my rear view mirror of all the
things I never want to say
Oh then I said, ?Love!?
Oh sugar don?t just stand there wondering
why you never got me any way you planned
me.
Pre Chorus
I just said
That I?m wrong
I just said I?m sorry
I just want to hold someone
I said that I want to believe in ?it?
Chorus
Oh!
All these that will make you find out why she
said,
?I don?t think you?ll run around anymore!?
Then I was
All the things?all the screams?
All the things she never tells herself
I said, ?Love!?
As if the world is spinning ?round don?t you
take me for granted because I?m not
screaming anymore!
Pre Chorus
I just said
That I?m wrong
I really meant to say I?m sorry
I just want to hold you close
I said I want to believe in ?it?
Chorus
Oh my Love!
Then I saw the way you never could have ever
been for me
Then I want
To just take you in my arms and tell you,
?Sugar, it will be alright, alright.?
