Story Behind The Song

I met a friend who introduced me to the writings of Lau Tsu, the Chinese philosopher who described the nature of existence as a balance between Yin and Yang, the complement of opposites without which rule the universe's energy. In the book summing up these beliefs, the Tao Te Ching, there is a line that says "those who know don't talk, and those who talk don't know" which I used as the opening lyric. The rest of the song suddenly appeared in my mind, and never needed changing.

Song Description

In a place where everyone knows each other, young people must follow the behavior that has been dictated to them by small-town values. For someone who has to grow and discover his own fate, he must re-locate to somewhere that allows for growth and freedom.
