Story Behind The Song
The story behind this song comes from my college days, when I met a girl in an algebra class at Lincoln University. She was from K.C. I lived off campus and maybe once of twice a week we would go to my place and have sex after eating and drinking a little wine. It became a habbit. We always considered each other as "just friends" but now when I think of her, I tink sometimes we would have been together and raised a family. Maybe it's still not too late
Song Description
After an arguement at her apartment about how she wants more out of life than "off and on" casual sex, she gives her part-time boyfriend a choice. He does not see things her way so she ask him to leave her apartment because the relationship is finished. After he arrive home, he sits thinking "is he willing to spend the rest of his life with her," so he re-evaluates the relationship. While thinking back on all the things they had been together through, he realizes what he maybe losing. After spending the day at home, bored and alone he decides to go for a ride in the late afternoon. As he drives the streets and boulevards, the words of this song is on his mind. The words are what he wants to tell her, now that he has had second thoughts about what she had said earlier. As he arrives back home some time later, his mind was made-up that she was going to be the lady in his life

Lyrics
[Verse One]
Cruising through the night, wondering just what are you doing
Since we had a fight, it?s been so lonely indoors and boring
So I?m spending the night cruising, thinking bout the girl I?m losing
I said some things I didn?t mean to, I should have said that I need you
Gotta let you know you?re the only, gotta let you know I?m lonely
Can?t let it go cause you got me, in your control so don?t drop me
[Chorus]
Silly girl, you know I never knew
Silly girl, you want me down for you
Silly girl, what are we gonna do
Silly girl, you know I?m here for you
So tell me who?s gonna love ya, who?s gonna need ya, who?s gonna be right there.
So tell me who?s gonna love ya, who?s gonna need ya, who?s gonna be right there.
Silly girl
[Verse Two]
You never know where love is coming from
We make mistakes and we look back and we learn
It?s not too late and I know now you?re the one
So let me know can we make us into one
Do anybody really know what love is? How long it?s gonna last?
You really gotta take a chance to find it, time goes by so fast
Then we?ll never know if you let it go. Time will tell and then we?ll know
[Verse Three]
I been spending my time just thinking, do you hold the key
And when I finally put it all together I know why, you?re so mad at me
[Chorus]
Silly girl, you know I never knew
Silly girl, you want me down for you
Silly girl, what are we gonna do
Silly girl, you know I?m here for you
