Back To The Black Sands

Story Behind The Song

I went to Maui and fell in love with it immediately. My journeys there inspired this song.

Song Description

This song was written while on a journey in Maui. There was a beach at the end of this 4 hour trek that had black sand. It was like looking at a negative of a picture. It was incredibly peaceful. The song also describes steep cliffs of green and breath-taking mountain scenes.

Lyrics

I witness tropical mountains
floating though a sea of moisture
nestled in softness of an enchanted ivory mist

I just take a ride back to the black sands
Treasures of blue and green are flowing over my soul

Sitting on a rolling hill of grass
watching over Mother Earth
seduced by her creation
captive in her arms
enveloped by her breast

Her every breath intoxicates me
Flows over me like velvet hands
The air is so kind - it smells of sweetness
The innocence of time

I just take a ride back to the black sands
Treasures of emerald blue are flowing over my soul

I just take a ride back to the black sands
Treasures of emerald green are flowing over my soul
