Story Behind The Song
The first 5 tracks of the Optical Album tell an instrumental story of a changing world. "Step Inside" serves as an intro, while "Decause" and "Deffect" build a plot of changing times of peace to times of war. "Total Chaos" represents an inferno/apocalyptic scene, a 911 influenced grand finale if you will. To close this short story is "Open Eye Lullaby", a slow errie tune that says it all in the title; the people can no longer sleep peacefully in the aftermath of what has happened.
Song Description
The sound of this track is generally mild. Pads of sweeping string synths swoosh around while percussion takes care of introducing the madness to come in "Deffect".
