Story Behind The Song
America was written after the songwriter's very first visit to the US from his home in London at age 32. Expecting a country of fast food restaurants and angry extremists, he was instead blown-away by everything that he saw and experienced and found a place so and inspirational, he decided to make it his home.
Song Description
An updated take on "America the Beautiful" - a stirring anthem about experiencing the grand and sweeping beauty of the U.S.A. for the very first time. The perfect road-trip song, America evokes that wind-through-your-hair feeling and doesn't let go.

Lyrics
Cruising, and there ain't a cloud in the sky
Making way for the sun to shine down on you
Feels like somewhere I've lived all my life
But is it asking too much to call it my home
And I can see you and everything that you are
Circular breathing just to take it all in
And I can't stop smiling at you, America
Georgia right in the eye of the storm
Soon to pass us by and back to the norm
She took me hook, line and sinker
What more could a man really ask for
L.A. women take it to extremes
Newfound film stars finding movie scenes
They can't stop smiling at you, America
You've got to take me down to the city of sin
And wake me up in the city that never sleeps
And I can't stop smiling
And they can't stop smiling
And we can't stop smiling at you, America
