My father who is a pastor wrote this poem about Jesus coming to earth as God. He asked me if I would write some music to his poem and this is what I came up with.

Jesus made a journey far from Heaven?s Throne.
His mission was to rescue planet earth.
The one condition was: He had to come alone.
He made His entrance through a virgin birth.
No one ever traveled from Heaven to earth before.
No one ever made a trip this far.
Our bond with God was b r o k e n??.it had to be restored.
So Jesus journeyed right to where we are.
Down He came from where there is no night.
To our darkness, sinfulness and shame,
Bringing with Him Perfect Love and Light,
Jesus had a treasure to reclaim.
At Bethlehem they kissed His baby skin.
At Calvary that skin, by hate, was torn.
He gave Himself so our lives could begin.
Jesus died so we could be reborn.
Emmanuel ! God with us ! Word and flesh are one.
Take our hand??..never more to roam.
Hold us close to Your side?..wounded, Risen Son.
Abide with us?..walk with us??to our Eternal Home.
