I was inspired to write this after a sudden, surprising breakup. I felt hurt, confused and lied to. I wasn't planning on seeing this person again, and I didn't want to hear any lies or justifications, but just a simple "goodbye."

This song is about having a very hard time letting go, but feeling angry and confused at the same time. The heartbroken one doesn't want to hear anything other than the word "goodbye" from the heartbreaker-anything else couldn't give justice or closure.
