Story Behind The Song
Everybody seems to have a story about "the one who got away." For me, I realized I had found the perfect one for me--a day too late.
I wrote "Jamie" on the way back home, after dropping her off in the big city for good to start a new life on her own. Having parted ways never being more than friends, I realized the moment--the opportunity had forever passed.

Lyrics
Verse 1:
Jamie, I've had you on my mind
Quite sometime tonight
Jamie, I can't believe you're gone this time
And you left me behind
Lately, this road ahead looks so unclear
Oh, how I wish you could still be here
(You're) so far, far away from me
Verse 2:
Jamie, I knew this day would come sometime
It's bittersweet
Empty, driving home I finally see
You still own a part of me
Jamie, when my road ahead so unclear
Oh, you made my sorrows disappear
So far away?
Bridge:
So what did we give up for
What if there's still something more
What if I came knocking on your door
Tonight
Would you invite me in
To try once more
Verse 3:
Jamie, I'm back at home again now
I'm all alone again now
But not for long
Maybe, I'm still a sucker for your charms
But it's only back in your arms where I belong
Jamie, the future might be so unclear
So close your eyes and I will reappear
Never so far, far away from here.
Oh, so far, far away from here.
