Lyrics

Well if I run outta reasons/
If I run outta friends/
If run into trouble/
In El Paso again/
Don't come to my rescue/
Don't come if I call/
Don't come within a mile/
Of these old prison walls/

*Chorus :

Well Linda/
Look out your window/
See the sun in the sky/
It's the same sun shining/
It just won't shine for me as bright/
As it's shining down on you/

Well if I find there's no heaven/
If I find only hell/
If I find a ride across the border/
Well I may find myself/
But I can't be for certain/
Till my number comes 'round/
I can't tell you that I love you /
From these dark prison grounds/

*Chorus
Well Linda/
Look out your window/
See the sun in the sky/
It's the same sun shining/
It just won't shine for me as bright/

Well I take all these troubles/
And I take them in stride/
But I don't take 'em lightly/
They'll take ten years off my life/
And I feel guilty of crimes/
I feel guilty as hell/
But I'll serve out my time/
In an El Paso jail/

*Chorus
Well Linda/
Look out your window/
See the sun in the sky/
It's the same sun shining/
It just won't shine for me as bright/

Hi, I really liked this song. The tune is familiar - but so is most country music - but the way the chords work together is a little different to the norm.
The vocal is spot on accurate and the demo works very well with just guitar chord backing because it allows the listener to hear the story.
Linda and window is a clever rhyme which could be corny but i think it works well!!
Good luck with this fine country song.

Very interesting....... Great groove!!!

Nust missed being a great song. Well recorded, played and sung. Nice writer demo

i like it--all the way around--thanxs--got a john prine flair to it--

I like the idea of your hook. "Walinda, Look out yer Winda" but I think it could be done in a way that would make it stand out more. I think the guitar playing is basic but appropriate.
