Story Behind The Song
What I felt starting out in my band and wrote it down out of frustration with hopeless sound engineers at live shows who really made us sound bad, dispite the fact that we were doing a great job.
Song Description
The frustration felt from a band perspective when the audience does not understand where you are coming from. They feel embarresed to tell you what you should improve and take the easy way out by saying it was good but they really think it wasn't. It's hard to get an objective view when people don't like confrontation.

Lyrics
Hide Your Disappointment
Load up your gear on that truck
You?re gonna need every piece
Now don?t you never, never count on your luck
Have another one of these
To do it right you got to be more than brave
Don?t do nothing stupid
It?s only your thoughts that will make you a slave
No matter what you said you did
All these faces staring
Look so familiar
Why don?t you
Take another part of me and fake it
Yeah, pretend you just didn?t see
So when we reach the end
You can look at me and
Hide your disappointment
Easily
Don?t kick open the door it?s already unlocked
I can hear their voices
If they ignore you don?t be shocked
Read everything in their faces
Alright, get behind those lines and stand up straight
It?s only where the strong survive
Come on its show-time don?t you be late
Make the dream come alive
All these faces staring at me
Look so familiar
If this is a beautiful world
I could never get the perfect girl
If this is beautiful land
In your eyes deceit
The perfect plan
All the faces starving
Look just like me
Why don?t you
Take another part of me and fake it
Yeah, pretend you just didn?t see
So when we reach the end
You can look at me and
Hide your disappointment
Easily
