Story Behind The Song
Long Beach was evacuated for Super Storm Sandy and I was a Refugee living in nearby East Meadow. It took days and weeks and months for the town to be livable again and for a time I felt displaced like a true Refugee along with many of my band mates.

Lyrics
"I'm a Refugee, from the City By the Sea, come on and rescue me, I'm a refugee..."
No hot water, we got no heat, temperature droppin to 40 degrees, the gas lines are endless, there 50 cars deep, if the Lord don't save us we all gonna freeze...
First came the wind and then the rain, hightide full moon, it was insane, the water kept a rising no way to win, broke down the boardwalk and rushed on in, people's houses flooded, it ain't right, holding on to dear life, into the night, when it was all over we prayed for the best, but Sandy made Long Beach a Soggy mess......
