Lyrics

He?ll Never Grow Old
By Molly McLean

Today was the first time in twenty four years
That I noticed he was growing old.
His hands trembled a little as he took out his pocketknife
For the first time he asked for my help.

All these years I?ve never noticed the age in his face,
But today a few more wrinkles had taken their place.
His hands are like leather, his heart like gold.
I never knew that he could grow old.

(Chorus)
He taught me how to drive a tractor across the big green pasture
He taught me how to swim across the creek
He watched as I learned how to ride my old brown bike.
It?s so hard to believe
That he would grow old right alongside of me.

Ever since I was a child, I stood right by his side,
And probably in the way, but he never let it bother him.
He just looked at me with his sweet grin and taught me a few
Of life?s lessons each day.

His eyes twinkle a little as he looks up at me. This man that I love
So much says that he loves me. Now his cheeks are rosy red and his hair
is starting to thin.
His eyesight is starting to grow a little dim.

(Bridge)
But he still has a strong grip and can take on any man.
I have been so blessed to have him as my granddad.

(Chorus)
He taught me how to drive a tractor across the big green pasture,
He taught me how to swim across the creek.
He watched as I learned how to ride my old brown bike.
It?s so hard to believe
It?s so hard to believe
That he would grow old alongside of me.
