Verse 1
Driving through the boonies, tryin? to find my way
I asked an old man to guide me and what did he say
Turn where that Ford plant sat a long time ago,
I thought to myself, just how would I know, (This is what he said?)

Chorus
There?s a fork in the road just up around the bend
Once you get past this you will find it my friend
Just a while back son, you ran afoul?
If it weren?t for them trees, you?d be there by now

Verse 2
Going to work just trying to make a living
I was fired by my boss, he ain?t that forgiving
He said to be happy; you gotta love what you do
I thought to myself just what should I pursue, (I remembered what that old man told me?)

Chorus

Bridge
Your road may have some obstacles, there?s no guarantee
You?ll miss the forest if you don?t look past the trees

Verse 3
Living my life and wondering about it?s purpose
My wife looks at me and said what?s all the fuss
Open your eyes and see what you find
It?s always been there just clear your mind, (?cause?)

Chorus
