Story Behind The Song
Michelle was 15? when she wrote this song for her Christmas CD. Having just gone through a breakup, she was in a sarcastic mood, which the song reflects, though it still have a Christmas party sound to it.
This song originally had a longer slow intro with more lyrics, so it didn't start with the chorus as it does now. Some of the instpiration came from the Eagles version of Please Come Home For Christmas, and there is some Elvis influence in there. She also had several of her friends from school sing backup on the song.
Song Description
She's alone at Christmas, and not happy, though the song has an "up" feel

Lyrics
CHORUS- WHAT A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS
WHAT A SURPRISE FOR ME
EVERYONE'S DOING A SPECIAL SOMETHING, EXCEPT FOR ME
I'M NOT SAYING COME HOME, AND I'LL BE DOING JUST FINE
WHAT A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS WITH YOU ON MY MIND
I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN FROM THE START
I GUESS WE WEREN'T MEANT TO BE, MEANT TO DRIFT APART
BUT IT TOOK ME BY SURPRISE, HOW YOU'VE GONE ON HAPPILY
WHEN BEFORE I WAS YOURS, WHAT YOU WANTED AND MORE,
NOW I'M A MEMORY
CHORUS
